A two-story house was commissioned by the owners of a medium size plot for their family house.
The tapered shape plot was narrowing down to the street front and opening wide up to far back. Considering the couple’s concern of privacy and rear garden livelihood the plot seemed to suit the purpose.
After carefully studying the orientation, the number of spaces required, and the clients demand for privacy the design was formed as a ‘fortress’ like building, having optimum openings to the front, taking advantage of the south facing, and large openings to the rear, where the living areas could open and enjoyed by the owners.
The spaces were organized to allow ease of access, limited waste of spaces, privacy, and orientation with a strategic design of the openings, including shadings.
